Chaos Island

About this game

Chaos Island is a party game about not getting blasted. Eight contestants are dropped on a bright little island, and then the island tries to get rid of them: meteor showers, flash floods, tornadoes, lightning, boulder runs, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, falling anvils, blizzards, rising acid, firestorms, alien invasions, gravity flips and stampedes of giant chickens. Fifteen disasters in all, each with its own warning and its own way to survive: climb before the water rises, get under a roof when red circles appear, keep clear of the dust cloud the chickens are charging out of. A Survival Tour is five rounds that get harder as they go, and from level 5 the last one is a Chaos Finale with two disasters at once. You score for every second you last and every coin you grab. Power-ups help, from extra speed and double jumps to a shield and a few seconds of invincibility, and two rescue bubbles fish you back if you fall off the island. Tours move between five islands that open up as you level: Sunny Shores, Neon City, Jungle Ruins, Frozen Peak and Moon Base. Chaos Mode is a party of eleven minigames, from Floor is Lava and Color Panic to Bomb Tag, Bridge Breaker and Tornado Tag. Freeplay lets you wander the islands with no disasters at all, help the islanders with their quests, take photos and hunt for twelve secrets, one of them a whole room hidden under the sea. Play against seven computer rivals, or open a room and share its four-letter code so up to eight friends can play together, with computer rivals filling any empty places. Coins and levels unlock hats, trails, emotes and titles, none of which change how you play, and your best tour score can go on the SyphonGames board. There is no chat, only emotes.

How to play

WASD to move, the mouse to look (click the game first so it can take the mouse), Space to jump, Shift to sprint and 1 to 8 for emotes. On a phone the left thumb moves, dragging looks around and the JUMP button jumps. The banner at the top says which disaster is coming and an arrow points to shelter: climb when water rises, get under a roof when things fall, and keep moving.
