Syphon's Neon Air Hockey
First to seven on a neon table. The puck keeps its speed, so the rebounds get vicious.

Air hockey on a lit table, played to seven goals. The paddle follows your mouse directly with no acceleration curve in the way, so the game is entirely about where you put it and when - there is no input to fight. The puck carries its momentum through every cushion, which is what gives the game its shape: a hard shot that misses comes straight back at you, and the rallies build speed until somebody mistimes a block. Catching the puck on the move and turning it back across the face of the goal is worth more than swinging hard at it. The table is deliberately plain to read at speed - a dark surface, lit edges, and a puck that trails so you can follow it when the rally gets quick. There is a photosensitivity warning on the way in, because the goal effects flash. Play against the house paddle, or pick Play a Friend: one of you creates a table, the other types the four-letter code, and the puck is shared between the two machines in real time. A note on the online game: the match is played through a server, so a player a long way from it will see the puck arrive slightly behind the host's. Best played against somebody on the same side of the world as you.
