Chaos Island: how to survive every disaster

Updated 16 October 2026

Every Survival Tour on Chaos Island throws five disasters at you, one per round, and each one has a way to live through it. This guide covers all fifteen, the islands they turn up on, and the habits that keep you standing when the sky starts falling.

Round 1 of 5 on Sunny Shores during a meteor shower: a meteor has just landed in flames and red circles mark where the next ones will hit.

How a Survival Tour works

A tour is five rounds. Each round moves to a different island and brings one disaster, and every round is a little more intense than the last. Eight contestants start; computer rivals fill any place a person has not taken. You score 100 points for surviving a round, a point for every second you last and two for every coin you pick up, so a player who survives and collects beats a player who only survives.

From level 5 the last round of a tour is a Chaos Finale: two disasters at once. The game never pairs two of the rising ones (flood, tsunami, volcano and acid) in the same finale, so there is always somewhere to climb to.

Five habits that win rounds

  • Read the banner. A warning names the disaster a few seconds before it starts, with a one-line tip underneath. With hints switched on (the default), an arrow also points you towards shelter.
  • Roofs are for things that fall: meteors, lightning and metal rain. They do not last for ever; a roof takes a few hits and then it is gone.
  • Height is for things that rise: floods, tsunamis, lava and acid. Find the high ground early, before everyone else is fighting over it.
  • Grab power-ups when you see them. One makes you run 38% faster for 7 seconds, one gives higher jumps and a double jump for 10, a shield blocks up to 45 damage for 12, one lets you sprint without tiring for 8, and the rarest makes you untouchable for 4.
  • You have two rescue bubbles. Fall off the island and a bubble carries you back, twice. After that a fall ends your round, so play the edges carefully once the bubbles are used.

The islands

New islands open as you level up: Sunny Shores from the start, Neon City at level 2, Jungle Ruins at level 4, Frozen Peak at level 6 and Moon Base at level 9. Moon Base has low gravity and no open water, so the flood-type disasters never happen there.

Every disaster, and how to live through it

Meteor Shower

On every island, from level 1. Red circles on the ground show exactly where each rock will land. Step out of the circle, or get under a roof and let it take the hits.

Flash Flood

Every island except Moon Base, from level 1. The water rises steadily and hurts while you are in it. Climb before it reaches you; on Sunny Shores the lighthouse is the classic refuge.

Tornado

Every island except Moon Base, from level 1. The twister roams and pulls you towards it. Keep well away rather than trying to dodge around it at close range.

Giant Chickens

On every island, from level 1. A dust cloud appears where a stampede is about to come from. When you see the dust, move sideways out of its path; a golden chicken sometimes drops a golden egg worth chasing.

Lightning Storm

Every island except Moon Base, from level 2. A glowing ring marks where a bolt is about to strike. Lightning loves high places, so come down from rooftops and towers and keep moving; a roof over your head keeps you safe.

Boulder Run

On every island, from level 3. Boulders roll down the same paths each time, and dust shows where they are coming from. Step out of the lane and stay out of it.

Tsunami

Sunny Shores, Neon City and Jungle Ruins, from level 4. The sea pulls back first, which is your warning. Get high and stay high until all the waves have passed; run uphill, not along the beach.

Earthquake

On every island, from level 5. Shockwaves roll across the ground: jump over them. Keep off the cracks and away from anything wobbling.

Volcano

Sunny Shores, Jungle Ruins and Frozen Peak, from level 6. Lava spreads out from the volcano and rises, and fire rocks rain down. Climb high, watch above you, and get off the lava the moment you touch it.

Metal Rain

On every island, from level 7. Anvils and pipes fall where the circles are. Run from shelter to shelter: each roof only survives a few hits, so do not settle under one for the whole round.

Freezing Blizzard

Frozen Peak, Sunny Shores, Neon City and Jungle Ruins, from level 8. The cold freezes you in place if you stay out in it. Stay near a heater or under a roof, and if your heater breaks down, find another quickly.

Rising Acid

On every island, from level 9. Green goo rises like a flood and geysers burst up through bubbling rings. Climb, and step away from any ring that starts to bubble.

Firestorm

Sunny Shores, Neon City and Jungle Ruins, from level 10. Fire spreads and the safe spots keep moving. Ground that has already burnt is safe, so follow the fire rather than running ahead of it.

Alien Invasion

On every island, from level 11. UFOs sweep beams across the ground and drones join in. Walls, roofs and tunnels hide you from the beams.

Gravity Flip

On every island, from level 12. Gravity changes during the round: low gravity gives huge bouncy jumps, heavy gravity brings junk down from the sky, and when gravity flips you need to be under something or you float away into the clouds, which zap you.

Chaos Mode: the minigames

Chaos Mode opens at level 3 and swaps the disasters for a party of quick games. Win more of them than anyone else to take the party.

  • Floor is Lava: tiles crumble into lava; keep moving and hop off any tile that wobbles.
  • Color Panic: a colour is called and every other colour drops away, so get onto the right one before time runs out.
  • Meteor Madness: a tiny arena and a sky full of meteors; dodge the circles without being knocked off the edge.
  • Chicken Run: stampedes through a farm; the dust clouds show where the chickens charge from.
  • Coin Frenzy: most coins wins, and the big gold coins are worth five.
  • Tiny Island: the island keeps shrinking and beach balls bounce you about; the outer ring shakes before it sinks, so head for the middle.
  • Bomb Tag: hot potato with a bomb. If you have it, bump into someone to pass it on; if you do not, run.
  • Bridge Breaker: race across a bridge over lava to the flag. Dark, cracked planks break when you step on them; fall in and you start again.
  • Skyfall: anvils, crates and rubber ducks land on the circles. Umbrellas help, until they break.
  • Rocket Mayhem: rockets fly down lanes. Yellow arrows mean a low rocket you can jump; red arrows mean get out of the lane.
  • Tornado Tag: a tornado chases whoever is IT. If that is you, tag someone fast.

Freeplay, levels and playing with friends

Freeplay (from level 2) lets you explore the islands with no disasters at all: help the islanders with their quests, take photos, and hunt for the twelve secrets hidden across the islands, one of them a whole room below the waves. Coins and levels unlock hats, trails, emotes and titles in the shop; none of it changes how you play.

To play with friends, open a room and share its four-letter code: up to eight people can play together, and computer rivals fill any empty places. There is no chat, only emotes (keys 1 to 8, or the smile button on a phone).
