About this game

Little Bubbling is a market town where the Crown's Excise keeps a close eye on anyone brewing. Your Great-Aunt Minnie has left you the back room of the Leaky Ladle, her old pot, the coins she hid under the third floorboard and a letter that ends with a warning: don't let the Excise see you brew. So you grow. Fill pots with soil, plant Moonmint and Sunpetal, keep them watered and cut them with shears when they flower. Five sprigs and a can of water in the Steeping Kettle make five doses of essence, finer if you keep the fire in the gold; stir in Ember Pepper or one of dozens of other ingredients at the Mixing Table to change what it does, then bottle it in vials and flasks. Nobody buys from a stranger, so you hand out a free sample and wait for a letter on your Pocket Slate. Agree a price and a place, haggle once if you dare, and be there on time: the townsfolk remember. The Excise men notice what they see, a vial in your hand or someone running, and between the nine o'clock bell and five they stop everyone in the street. Talk your way out, pay a fee, hide in the hay or run, and keep your savings in the bank rather than your pockets. As the business grows you take on more premises, hire herbalists, brewers and bottlers, recruit peddlers and work up to Starsalt and Phoenix Elixir, with Minnie's old debt to the Guild still to settle. Up to four friends can share one town, one bank and one business. Every building, face, plant and sound is made by the game's own code as you play. Little Bubbling is the newest game here and still being tested, so expect the odd rough edge.

How to play

WASD to walk, Shift to run, C to sneak, Space to jump and the mouse to look. E talks, opens doors and uses whatever you are looking at; left click uses what is in your hand, and 1 to 9 or the mouse wheel pick from your pockets. Tab opens your Pocket Slate with letters, deals and prices, M the map, F lights your lantern, R turns furniture before you set it down and T waves or calls to friends. On a phone, turn it sideways: a stick moves you and buttons use, interact, jump and sneak.
