About this game

Scales of Justice is a narrative game rather than an action one: a courtroom drama subtitled a story of what people weigh, told through conversation and the decisions you make inside it. The cast is small and deliberately so. Dana Voss, Detective Ada Reyes, Iris Calloway, Judge Whitlock, Conrad Vale, Sam Ruiz and Gerald Pike each have their own reading of the same events, and the case file fills in as you speak to them. Working out who is shading the truth and who is simply wrong is most of the game. Some choices are timed, and the game tells you when the moment is closing rather than springing it on you. Those are the ones that matter - a decision you had ten seconds to make sits differently afterwards than one you could weigh for as long as you liked. Text speed is adjustable from instant to slow, and progress saves so a case can be taken up again later. There is no failure state, only consequences, and it is short enough to finish in a sitting if you want to.
