About this game

Freefall is a skydiving game about lines rather than reactions. You are falling regardless; the whole game is how much you can pass through on the way down. Rings are scored, and chained rings multiply - so the interesting decision is never whether to take the next one but whether the one after that is still reachable from the line you would land in. Passing through a ring dead centre is worth more than clipping its edge, and a run of perfect centres is where the big scores live. Five stages give the falling different shapes. Cloud Break is the gentle introduction; Storm Run adds weather that shoves you off line; Skyline drops you down a corridor between skyscrapers; Canyon Drop narrows the gates to rock; and Terminal Descent is exactly what it sounds like. Quick Fall is the endless mode for anyone who just wants to keep going. Altitude, vertical speed and wind are all live on the HUD, and they are worth watching - the wind is not decoration. There is a full set of achievements, from your first ring up to exceeding 120 metres per second and completing a stage without touching anything.

How to play

Steer your fall with the arrow keys or WASD - you are always descending, so this is about line rather than throttle. Brake to slow the descent and buy time for an awkward ring. Pass through ring centres for more points, and chain them without missing to build the multiplier. Watch the wind indicator on the stormy stages.
